Beyond Walls is a three-year project enabling Theatre Royal to work with local organisations providing opportunities for people from the region to work alongside professional artists creating new work inspired by their stories.
The Beyond Walls festival will be a chance for Theatre Royal and its partners to celebrate and share this work with our wider audience through a lively programme of theatre performances, workshops, storytelling and arts be announced later in the year but it will include:
PEOPLE & PLACES
Art workshops led by Jacqui Campbell. A series of visual storytelling workshops exploring our relationship with our environment – using print, collage, text and other art forms to create an installation throughout the festival week.
A new performance piece using cutting edge arts practices and inspired by work with teenagers living in rural Suffolk. Led by director Marcus Romer and writers James McDermott and Atiha Sen Gupta.
ACT YOUR AGE & COMMUNITY COMPANY
Our two adult community groups, led by Lynn Whitehead, are creating new work exploring what is important to them through humour, song, music and some great storytelling an attitude to life that is infectious.
