Next Stage Theatre Group
Wednesday 11th February - Wednesday 18th March
Come along to one (or all) Next Stage theatre workshops to develop your acting, devising, and behind-the-scenes skills, whilst exploring how theatre is created both on and off stage.
7 January 2026 – Character
This session focuses on how performers create believable characters. Participants will explore motivation, intention and emotional truth, using imagination and simple acting exercises to bring a character to life on stage.
11 February 2026 – Voice
Voice work looks at how we use breath, sound and speech to communicate clearly and confidently. The session includes warm-ups and practical techniques to improve projection, clarity and expression, helping performers be heard and understood without strain.
18 March 2026 – Physicality
Physicality explores how the body tells a story. Through movement, posture and spatial awareness, participants learn how physical choices can shape a character and enhance stage presence, making performances more dynamic and expressive.
Three brand-new workshops designed especially for people aged 16–18 who are curious about performance and theatre-making! No previous experience is needed – just enthusiasm, creativity, and a passion for performance and storytelling.
Each session focuses on one key theme (see above) and is run by professional theatre-makers, giving you the chance to learn new techniques, build confidence and collaborate creatively.
The skills you’ll learn in Next Stage could help to support your UCAS application, boost your CV and broaden your skillset.
Can’t attend all three? Don’t worry, choose to book all three sessions at once or attend individual sessions. We know you’re busy people!
Sessions run on one Wednesday a month from 5–7:30pm at Abbeygate Sixth Form College.
