Give your child an unforgettable summer filled with creativity, learning and adventure! Our Summer Young Company offers 11-18 year olds the chance to be part of a new modern adaptation of Sword in the Stone. This experience is not just about putting on a show—it’s about building confidence, honing skills and making lifelong memories.

We are also seeking a small group of Young Technicians. If you are aged 16 and a school leaver then we would love to hear from you too!

What to Expect from Sword In The Stone

Week One: Setting the Stage

  • Cast arrival and guided theatre tour
  • Full company meet and greet
  • Script read-through and character analysis
  • Drama workshops to develop acting techniques
  • Introduction to backstage roles and responsibilities

 

Week Two: Bringing the Show to Life

  • Scene rehearsals with the director
  • Costume fittings and initial design discussions
  • Hands-on exploration of set design and props
  • Voice and movement sessions

 

Week Three: Tech and Production Week

  • Technical rehearsals: lighting, sound and stage management
  • Dress rehearsals in full costume
  • Final run-throughs with professional feedback
  • Performances: 21st, 22nd & 23rd August (matinee and evening shows)

 

Cost:

£275 in total.

Financial Assistance

We understand that the cost of £275 may be challenging for some families. That’s why we’re committed to making this opportunity as accessible as possible:

Following the audition process, if your child is cast we will require a £55 non-returnable deposit to secure their place in this unforgettable production. Important Dates

Auditions: Monday 3rd March  & Saturday 10th May (times TBC)

Rehearsals: 4th-8th & 11th-15th August (times TBC)

Production Week: 18th-20th August

Performances: 21st-23rd August
