Theatre Club Summer 2025
Posted on: 22nd April, 2025
Enjoy theatre? We’re inviting you to be part of our new Theatre Club – come alone or bring a friend and enjoy shows hand-picked by our director.
Unpacking each part of a show is so interesting, especially with others who may offer different insights and opinions! Come along to a Theatre Club performance and feel free to enjoy theatre on your own, or with a friend, as part of our Theatre Club.
What is Theatre Club?
Think ‘book club’ but for theatre: Get yourself a refreshment in our Greene Room Bar and find our designated Theatre Club table and meet fellow club members pre-performance. Literature and background information will be available for you to read and take away with you for a deeper dive into the show’s background, actors, playwright and more. Re-join the table in the interval if you’d like to and then post-show, you are welcome to head over to our local pub, The Dog and Partridge (300m) to discuss the show with your fellow club members at a reserved table for Theatre Club members.

An annual work review that goes horribly wrong.
Head of Department Nicky wants to get on with her job, but her boss Jo has other ideas. He has a plan and thinks she is going to like it…
A two-hander dark comedy played out in real time, Appraisal is a masterclass in subtext, manipulation, and unexpected humour. What seems like an ordinary work performance review quickly turns into a comical yet chilling power struggle. Nicky is just trying to get through the meeting, but her boss, Jo, has something far more sinister—and ridiculous—up his sleeve. The situation spirals into an absurdly tense showdown that’s as funny as it is unnerving…
