Act Your Age Workshops: Spring 2026
Tuesday 13th January
Act Your Age is a friendly weekly drama group for adults aged 55+ that uses fun activities like improvisation to support wellbeing, creativity, and social connection, with no experience needed.
Our a friendly, supportive group for adults, meets at Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds every Tuesday afternoon, 1:30-3pm.
We get together to explore drama techniques such as devising and improvisation. It’s good for wellbeing, making new friends and a chance to be a bit silly and let off steam!
New members are always welcome to join us – no previous theatre experience is necessary!
Bursary support is available, please email [email protected] to enquire.
The sessions are hosted by Matt Jewson, professional actor, producer and theatre director. Matt gained an MA in Acting at East 15 Acting School. He was Artistic Director of TWAS Theatre LTD – an educational theatre company in East Anglia – from 2015-2020. He’s toured international theatre, new writing and Theatre In Education productions and previously worked as Engagement Producer at Mercury Theatre Colchester. He’s worked with brilliant companies such as Limbik Theatre, Norwich Theatre Royal and Fresh Air Festival. Matt works as neurodiverse advocate for theatre makers and has previously worked on projects that explore developing creatives practices made and for dyslexic theatre makers supported by Arts Council England. He’s currently working on a project called “Dyslexia and Me” supported by Essex County Council that looks at dyslexic identity for young people/creatives.
