A Theatre Royal Production. Written by Chris Hannon.

Every day is the same for Rapunzel. She gazes from her tower and dreams of the world beyond…but today is different…today she’ll escape.

Pursued by a wicked witch, a talking dog and a love-sick shepherd, Rapunzel’s journey takes her in search of the one thing that can save her: a Golden Tulip. Join us in 2025 for magic, mayhem and more sheep than you can shake a stick at!

Theatre Royal Productions

Each year we make four distinctive, beautifully-staged in-house productions of our own. Rapunzel is one of our in-house productions. Other in-house productions currently on sale are The Little Train and And Then Come The Nightjars.

The income from these productions is retained by Theatre Royal (in comparison to visiting, touring shows where we retain only between 20% and 30% of the ticket income) and is used to support our programme of work in the community, to enable us to create high quality and diverse theatre and to maintain and run our beautiful 206 year old theatre – to keep it thriving for future generations.

So, if you purchase a ticket for Rapunzel, The Little Train or And Then Come The Nightjars we want to say a huge THANK YOU! Your support means so much.
