POST SHOW Q&A WITH WRITER, MUSICIAN AND LYRICIST KITTY MORGAN FRIDAY 4 OCTOBER

Presented by OVO and Norwich Theatre

Inspired by Alfred Noyes’ Poem

Book, music and lyrics by Kitty Morgan

Arrangements by Adam Morris

Directed by Adam Nichols

A fierce musical ride through love, larceny and 17th century debauchery!

He’s a dashing rogue, undeniably charming and admirers fall over themselves for him. But beneath the wink and the smile lies a self-proclaimed sociopath, The Highwayman.

Prepare yourself for a full-throttle musical gallop through the grimy underbelly of 1600s England, where love is as dangerous as a back-alley brawl.

Along the way we meet a cast of richly drawn restoration rogues and romantics – from a mysterious conquistador to a rip-roaring East End landlady, and even special guest appearances by Nell Gwynn and King Charles II himself…

Join us for a tub-thumping pub sing-along where a live band reimagines tavern tunes and folk ballads in super contemporary arrangements, painting the picture of this devastating love story in and amongst the crime ridden filth.

The Highwayman is a wildly entertaining, tragically romantic story that holds a mirror to our own messy, modern world. It’s about longing for better while trying to run from the worst of our past.

Grab your tankard and come along for the ride of your life!

It is not only a touching tale of a mother’s love and sacrifice but a rollicking crime drama with a comic undertone.
