Set in Victorian London, Benjamin Barker is deported on a trumped-up charge by a corrupt judge lusting after his wife and daughter. Years later, Barker arrives back in London with a new name: Sweeney Todd. Obsessed by his need for revenge, he opens a barber’s shop above Mrs Lovett’s pie shop. Together, they devise a meaty plot!
Sondheim’s recipe of anger, greed, revenge, love and humour combine to make this a masterpiece of musical theatre… and a bloody good tale!
This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International. All authorised performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
