Following the success of Our Day Out: The Musical in 2017, Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds is delighted to be running the Summer School project again in 2018 with a brand new professional production of
Goodnight Mister Tom
The project gives young people an exciting opportunity to work either on stage alongside a professional cast (including Roy Hudd as the grumpy but lovable Mr Tom) or behind the scenes with Theatre Royal’s technical and production teams.
We’ve already had the first stage of auditions but we are still looking for talented boys and girls aged 10 to 13 years old who can act and sing to play challenging key roles in the production. William and Zach are evacuated from London to the countryside where they meet Carrie, George and Ginnie; they all go through harrowing experiences but also the joy of forging strong new friendships. The successful applicants will need to be available from Mon 30 July right through the summer and including all of the scheduled performances. The next round of auditions will take place on Monday 4 June from 6.30pm-9pm.
The dates of the Summer School are Monday, 6 August to Saturday, 8 September 2018
Please note that, in the week beginning 2 September 2018, all the weekday performances will be in the evening.
The cost to be a part of this amazing 5 week project is £200.00.
This can be paid in instalments and we do have a limited number of scholarship places available so please contact Natalie directly to discuss this further.
If you are interested in applying please contact Natalie via email, or call 01284 829944.
