Help others enjoy Theatre Royal by leaving a gift in your Will
A legacy in a Will is an excellent way of ensuring that something you care about is supported in the future. If you leave something to charity in your Will, then it will not count towards the total taxable value of your estate. You can also cut the Inheritance Tax rate on the rest of your estate from 40% to 36%, if you leave at least 10% of your ‘net estate’ to a charity. Gifts made in this way are invaluable to Theatre Royal, and allow you to commemorate the enjoyment you have received here over the years. Since 1819, this theatre has entertained the community of Bury St Edmunds and brought joy to the town. The generous support of our audience members, Friends, Patrons, Major Donors and Corporate Supporters plays a vital role in helping to make sure that we remain a theatre for everyone.
Others have been so touched by what they have experienced in this beautiful theatre that they’ve made a commitment to leave a gift in their will to Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds. Legacy gifts, large and small, have helped continue to inspire communities across our region through our engagement work, and supported productions and programmes that touch people’s lives in so many ways.
We want to make sure that we take steps now to invest in the future of our theatre. A gift in your Will is a wonderful and easy way to help us safeguard our remarkable work for future generations and plan for the future with confidence.
All legacy gifts support all our work at Theatre Royal. However, if you would like to support a particular area of our work, we would be more than happy to discuss this with you. A gift in your Will costs you nothing now, and by remembering us in your Will you will be helping future audiences to enjoy Theatre Royal, as you do today.
If you are considering leaving a gift in your Will, or would like more information, we would be grateful if you could fill in our Legacy form and discuss it with Emma Suckling, our Head of Development [email protected].
Our Legacy leaflets can also be found at Ellisons Solicitors in Guildhall Street, Bury St Edmunds. If you do include Theatre Royal in a new Will, or amend your existing Will to include us, you will need to include the theatre’s registered charity number; 2429777.
