Introducing our Online Ticketing and Access Scheme

We are always looking to improve the booking journey for our customers with access requirements.

Therefore, we are delighted to have launched our new Access Registration scheme in partnership with Nimbus Disability. Nimbus Disability is a social enterprise and an organisation run by and for disabled people and is recognised as a leading authority on accessible ticketing in the UK.

This scheme includes a new level of validation with the Access Card, meaning that our tickets and venue are being used effectively by those who require access facilities, and enabling us to mitigate any possible misuse of our access tickets.

Nimbus will oversee your registration, offering you greater privacy and the theatre greater consistency in the support we offer.

Therefore, we are encouraging all our access customers to apply for an Access Card or a free Theatre Royal Digital Access Pass number so that you may access the best seats for your needs whilst booking online.

Once registered, your Access Card/Pass number will last for three years. For help and support applying, please visit the Access Card Support Page by clicking here or call Nimbus Disability on 0330 808 5108.

Already have a Nimbus Access Card? There is no need to re-register, just log in or create an account and submit your Access Pass number.

What is the difference between an Access Card and a Theatre Royal Digital Access Pass?

The Access Card is a universal way of conveying your access requirement with organisations and ticketing systems in the UK and beyond. Access Cards are £15 for three years and can be used at thousands of events.

You can view the Access Card directory here: www.accesscard.online/find-a-provider

A Theatre Royal Digital Access Pass is a free way of conveying your access requirements with us only. You still go through the same process, but you receive a Digital Access Pass number only and no physical card. It lasts for three years and you can upgrade to a physical Access Card at any point.

Linking my Access Card or Theatre Royal Digital Access Pass Number to my Theatre Royal account

When your application has been processed successfully, Nimbus will provide you with a unique Access Pass number via email which you can then use to link your access needs into our system. It’s quick and easy to link your Digital Access Pass, and if you don’t have a Theatre Royal customer account our clever system will create one for you. You can then log in via the “forgotten my password” button.

With your customer account created, we will pull through your requirements directly from Nimbus. When booking tickets online, seats associated to your requirements will show automatically on the seating plans, where there is availability for those seats.

Useful information: If you are not able to use online forms, you do still need to register. Nimbus will be able to assist with telephone registration on 0330 808 5108.

The Access Card

If you would like to, you can upgrade your free registration to a full Access Card application and receive a physical Photo ID card. It costs £15 and is valid for 3 years. This is recognised all over the country, including Theatre Royal.

More on The Access Card by Nimbus

Why is the process changing and how does this benefit me?

By partnering with Nimbus, this will enable us to fully understand the access requirements of our customers and provide reasonable adjustments, such as access to certain seating and essential companion tickets.

Nimbus is a Social Enterprise that has received international recognition for operating the Access Card Scheme. Nimbus is run by, and for, disabled people. The system offers greater privacy, as disabled people with access requirements will no longer need to share supporting documents or explain circumstances to staff. You’ll only need to supply information once to the Nimbus

team, who can then issue you with an Access Card or a Digital Access Pass reference number – depending on which route you choose when signing up.

Our commitment to accessibility remains unchanged.

Our friendly team is still here to support you if you have any questions or need assistance. For further support, please email [email protected] or call the Box Office on 01284 769 505.
