Youth Advisory Board

Our Youth Advisory Board is an important part of our decision making at Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds.

Comprised of 12 local young people, our board works together to help steer decisions which are focused on or directly impact the local young people who interact with our programmes.

The Youth Advisory Board work together on projects that create positive change in our theatre. From focusing on the marketing of our community festival ‘Bloom’ to increasing awareness regarding accessibility, our Youth Advisory Board work directly with our team to help advocate for the changes that they want to see.

Below are some of the projects that our Youth Advisory Board has achieved over the past 12 months:

  • Collaborated on a new access pack for the theatre
  • Supported the Theatre Royal team with the creation of an Easy Read and Visual Story for this year’s pantomime Snow White
  • Broadened the amount of non-alcoholic drink options in our bar offering
  • Supported the growth of our new initiative ‘Hangout’ designed specifically for young people
  • Provided feedback on our pantomime ‘Snow White’ for the creative team and producer.

At the end of each academic year, our application period will reopen.
